Morris DigitalWorks welcomes T.J. Weyer to The Times-Union and Morris Communications

Augusta, GA - Morris DigitalWorks, the online division of Morris Communications Company would like to welcome T.J. Weyer, former director of classifieds for Belo Interactive, as the new media director of the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville. Morris Communications is the parent company of the Florida daily. In his new role, Weyer will have responsibilities that include managing the newspaper's website, Jacksonville.com, as well as overseeing future initiatives involving new media.

"T.J. brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in classifieds (and other subjects) that I know will be of enormous value, first to Jacksonville, and to all of Morris." Weyer began his career in the newspaper industry with Morris in 1988 as a sales intern at the Times-Union in Jacksonville. During his tenure in Jacksonville, he held various positions including major automotive account rep from 1990 to 1994 and employment manager from 1994 to 1996, and was promoted to classified manager of The Savannah Morning News in Savannah, Ga. in early 1997.

After 10 years with Morris Communications, he became the South East affiliate sales manager for CareerPath.com, overseeing the efforts of 15 newspapers throughout the southeast. When CareerPath was folded into CareerBuilder, he accepted a position with Belo Interactive in Dallas, Texas to manage online classifieds for their company nationwide.
