Morris Communications entered the fledging Internet business in the fall of 1995, establishing a division of online services to help Morris newspapers develop and implement a World Wide Web publishing strategy. That division grew from a handful of employees into Morris DigitalWorks (MDW), with a staff of more than 80 talented engineers, software specialists, Web developers, designers and support staff. An additional 250 Morris employees also participate in our Internet business and report directly to newspapers, magazines, book publishing and other internal organizations.

For the past years, Morris DigitalWorks has fostered continuous growth in online page views and increased revenues from Morris Communications' online properties. MDW creates custom Internet publishing tools, develops innovative designs and keeps Morris Communications on the cutting edge of the Web. Currently, we host more than 2,000 domains - serving more than 40 million page views per month. MDW is headquartered in Augusta, Georgia.

In order to invest in our winning team's personal growth, improve our customer service, and drive product evolution, we realigned our internal departments in February 2004. In designing the changes, we set out to meet some very specific objectives:
